Unless things have changed since I was last there, everyone at SJU needs to go to the counter.
There is a gold line, which you'll be able to use regardless of whether your profile is up to date or not.
The issue with SJU is normally not so much the wait in the line, but whether or not they have any cars left when you arrive...
