ITA Matrix finds 4-segments YUL-PVG on a single fare component - not even a broken fare as mentioned above.

Look at routing rules on ExpertFlyer for the highest fare you're willing to pay. You might be surprised at the extra MQM you can pull in, irrespective of segment count.
