For several years I did occasional quick turn EWR-HKG flights, returning two days after arrival in HKG, almost always in the same seat (8E). I'd have the same FA on the return flight, who would remember me from the first flight.
I think crew rest is an additional day longer now, so if that's the case it wouldn't happen again.
Those crew rotations are always the same, so should probably be expected.
A while ago, I think before he merger even, I did CVG-ORD-SFO. Was in F on the first segment (UDU) on a 320, and Y on the onward 757. The Crew (FAs) was sitting next to me at the gate, and were working that SFO flight also (obviously, with more added because of the bigger aircraft). We chatted for a while when we waited. Later on in the SFO flight, they brought me back a fresh baked cookie from F, which I thought was really nice
