Introduction Not many years ago, you can hardly find an international hotel brand in Haikou, which it was supposed to be the frontier economic zone in China during the late opening and reform period. The earlier invader should be Sheraton Hotel by SPG group. Given to the over-development in Sanya (which is seen as the most favorable tropical destination in south China) in these years, the international hotel brands started to move their sights to the north. Then Hilton group has built 3 hotels in greater Haikou area. As the late-comer, Marriott has showed its big ambition in this city. It built the first milestone, Marriott Hotel in West Coast area. Not too long after, there comes its luxury hotel brand Rits Carlton's new opening in late 2016. Marriott's loyalty programme is supposed to be a better one among other international hotel brands, as the hotel staffs would treat the valued members well when they arrive. Right after my booking was generated on Marriott App, I had seen many details about the upgrade of my room. Unlike other hotel loyalty programme, Marriott's commitment of room upgrade for Diamond Member is predictable upon the availability of the suite room. You will feel better, when your expectation is about to realize. Staffs at the Executive Lounge can really make you feel home with their warm greeting and impeccable service. And you can also really enjoy your previliege as the valued member. They offered me a super sea view suite just as it was showed on my booking detail. The large of the suite did surprise me lots，and can really challenge other same level hotel brands' suites. Both living room and bedroom all face to the ocean, with wide balconies. And need to mention is a huge bubble bath tub is sitting in front of the balcony in the bedroom.The decoration is kind of mixed Modern Chinese Style with business trend, in pretty dark color. It seems to reflect some stories of history (even it is quite new). The hotel is located in West Costal area where is about 15km away from the city centre. Something not matched with this quite new hotel is lack of auto toilet and coffee machine.You can also find Happy Hour’s offerings quite normal, just as the decoration of the room. Nothing really surprises you. And Perrier water is no longer offered at Marriott hotel, Renaissance and even JW Marriott in China, due to the cut of cost. Overall speaking, Marriott Haikou is worth to stay with its competitivenesses. And there is a rumor says that it will be upgraded as JW Marriott in the near future.
