I've never seen charges for extra adults when booking a room on the IHG site. My search criteria are usually two adults, zero children. The room description says the room accommodates two adults. The price shown is usually what I pay, but now I'm seeing extras of 12-15GBP per night 'starting with the second adult', which means if you travel with a partner the cost can really add up over a week's stay.
