I had it done by the hotel a couple of times when booked separately because blending different rates or ability to cancel for flexibility. Usually happened on the date of the arrival only. Didn't matter to me in most cases but once I needed two receipts -- weekdays for reimbursement and weekend out of pocket. I declined. Couple of times I insisted to combining myself -- promos required multiple nights to qualify.
