How best to use Qantas points [title edited]
I am a 75K MVP on Alaska airlines (highest you can get) for the year of 2017. Other than that I am a nobody....

I just got a 6 month work Visa and will be traveling to Australia at least twice, probably more, from Seattle. (At least once from Dallas as that is longest non stop flight starting in the USA!)

I will also be going to Portugal and probably Luxembourg.

Should I credit these point to Alaska airlines (Alaska is not part of oneworld but is partners with Qantas)?
Should I leave the points with Qantas?
etc.

End goal is to use the points for free trips for my family tom somewhere. Also gettign status on a airline of course.
