For those EVA Air flights, were they available to book on awards, or did Aeroplan contact EVA Air to open up J? Curious as to what routes they were trying to put you on?

I have a similar situation where I'm flying from CNX-YYC and EVA Air canceled the TPE-JFK leg, put us on a flight 12 hours later to JFK, and Aeroplan has yet to be rebook us home to YYC. Called up Aeroplan and asked them to put in request to EVA Air to open up TPE-LAX flight, then we can probably get on LAX-YYC flight since it's Air Canada. It's been 5 days since Aeroplan made request and still waiting for feedback...

At least you got great J in EVA Air, I'm just worried Aeroplan will try to stick us with less desirable J route, or TPE-YVR in EVA Air's less desirable J class.
The BR Vancouver flights change over to the 777 in July, so J will be a much more comfortable experience. I'm assuming you're flying before then, but if not, the YVR wouldn't be so bad.
