Are you sure they are just sitting there? The -300's are supposed to be getting the IFE and J upgrades presently. It might seem that there has been two sitting there for a long time now, but are they actually the same two? The lack of -300 availability is the reason the 744's (and ER's at that) are operating QF51/52 presently.
