I've generally had good breakfasts at UK HH/DT's.
I've noticed that at many properties, they're actually priced to sell. That means it gets a lot of attention and the food turns over fast. Contrast to the U.S., where breakfast is marked to vastly higher than it's worth, leaving mainly elites who get it free and people on a truly unlimited expense account. Some hotels still do it well, but at others the bacon looks like it's been sitting there since the Bush Administration...
