I haven't used it much since the DT opened, but will give it another go when we get out of winter.
It's a good hotel, just wish it were slightly closer to town or transport, train is a bit of a walk. Nice to walk around the river area in summer, not so nice in winter!
Fire alarms are always interesting, I've had several over the years;
Glasgow Grosvenor, Glasgow Hilton, Dunblane Hydro, Sheffield Hilton to name a few. Luckily all were false alarms.
The least fun was the Glasgow Hilton, 19th floor and 19 flights of stairs on the way down. On the way back up a long wait for a lift, or back up the 19 flights of stairs, opted for stairs for speed.
By the time I got back to my room I was done in!
Haha, I had the same at Hilton Brighton a few years back, mate and I upgraded to room on top floor, we just started eating room service when alarm went off, down many flights of stairs , stand outside in December for half hour , freeze nuts off , back in , up many stairs as que for lift horrendous, back to room , food cold, phone down to re order, " your food will be ready in 1.5 hours sir as we have to recook the whole hotel " ....... had to leave as we were due on-stage in 30mins......done the gig , back to hotel for 1am........everyone outside, yet another alarm.......we went to get a kebab!
