Keep the issue of the crappy hhonors experience separate from the one of getting your account reactivated. Contact the hotel directly, sort out the charge, have them help you get your account open. Then raise a ruckus about the crappy experience.

I did just that. I called up accounts and paid the 29 dollars, noting that I had no interest in screwing a multi-billion dollar Corp out of 29.00. She took the payment over the phone. She was nice, then again she was just the messenger. I suspect my account will reinstate when the charge posts to my cc.
