You don't get the chance to get off the plane in MXP and you do immigration in BCN. In Y you get a decent small cold or hot meal depending on time of day on the BCN-MXP and MXP-BCN sector, with full meals served at either end of the SIN-MXP sector. In J I imagine it's better but the Y meals are perfectly adequate.
