I think the issue is that, DL1768 operates OGG/SEA AND SEA/MSP. If the OP was flying, for example, OGG/SEA/PDX, or OGG/SEA/DEN, on different flight numbers, the Hawaii upgrades would work.

This issue seems to have been going on as long as I've been flying DL and reading FlyerTalk.
