I'll echo what everyone else is saying about them being interrogators. I've received it in both YVR and YYC. The guy at secondary told me to expect it every time when visiting Canada.

That's just the way they are.

Even the preclearance people (US CBP) at YEG were really rude to me. I've got GE and even without the "X" on my receipt they questioned my visit.
