Was in Stockholm for 3 days in mid December and never touched any cash. Used cc for everything. Guess I did not run into the same situations as the OP.

I have never had to use cash in the Nordic countries and do not withdraw cash when I visit Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, etc. Maybe it depends on where you go!?
