A bit more segment searching reveals another option of taking ANA the whole way home via Tokyo, first with a 787-9 followed by a 777~300ER all in business.

I imagine this narrows the gap somewhat, but seems like I can't really go wrong. As someone who doesn't get to fly either internationally very often, this is a fun problem to have
