Your experience is the same as mine. I'm no longer using PL (I haven't done it for last 2-3 years).

Admittedly, there might be some value left in "last minute" 1 night bookings in the US - but it is very rare that I'm in need of that.

I also find the excessive fees/surcharges added to the bid very annoying.
