First standby vs upgrade clearing
I have a P fare HNL-DEN-IAH, but I'm looking to standby on the direct flight for a first class seat. Currently the flight is F2 several days before departure, so chances that P will be open before departure are small. Assuming there are first class seats open at the gate, who clears first: upgrades or passengers standing by for a first class seat?
