Been watching that NRT-SFO leg for a while, and sure enough this week UA converted it from what was a 744 to the 777-200...was hoping it would be a new 777-300ER instead, but no such luck.

The other option we have to get home is a Eva 777-300ER BKK-TPE-LAX business class for the same award rate.

1) Assuming travel times/layovers were equal, would you take the 772 Polaris First (I'd imagine with the GlobalFirst hard product) or the Eva 773 Business across the pacific?

2) Alternatively, I guess there is no way to predict if the UA 772 is retrofitted by Nov 2017 into a two class Polaris cabin (is there?) so the comparison would be Eva Business vs new UA Polaris Business head to head. Now what?

New to the forum, but a long time reader. Thanks for your input!
Well, first, congrats on your upcoming wedding and honeymoon!

Really this is really a personal choice. I don't think any of the 777-200s will be retrofitted by Nov 2017 and even if they were only a small handful would be converted.

I would personally go with the Eva Air because their service is more consistent and the hard product is also very nice. It'll also be easy for you guys to snag two middle seats so your closer than in United Polaris First.
