UA 777-200 Polaris First vs Eva 777-300ER Business NRT-SFO Nov 2017?
Returning from honeymoon on award ticket early November 2017, and see BKK-NRT on an NH 787-8 business class followed by NRT-SFO on a UA 777-200 Polaris First. This ends with a short hop down home to LAX. Been watching that NRT-SFO leg for a while, and sure enough this week UA converted it from what was a 744 to the 777-200...was hoping it would be a new 777-300ER instead, but no such luck.
The other option we have to get home is a Eva 777-300ER BKK-TPE-LAX business class for the same award rate.
1) Assuming travel times/layovers were equal, would you take the 772 Polaris First (I'd imagine with the GlobalFirst hard product) or the Eva 773 Business across the pacific?
2) Alternatively, I guess there is no way to predict if the UA 772 is retrofitted by Nov 2017 into a two class Polaris cabin (is there?) so the comparison would be Eva Business vs new UA Polaris Business head to head. Now what?
