Try as I might I couldn't beat that price. In fact, the price steadily increased from ~$260 to over $1400 as the dates got closer!

I explained the in's and out's to my mom before she left: the price on the reservation is the price on the contract, no questions asked. She ended up walking out with a brand new Avalon with 5k miles on it. She's thrilled!
