They told me my only options were to have them un-check me in (but I'd lose my seat assignment) or stop at the counter at the airport for a reprint; Easy Check-In was NOT an option. So I now make sure my printer is hooked up OK before attemptiong On-Line check-in..
The solution (assuming your browser hasn't crashed) is to print to a file and then print that file later.
I've taken to printing all itineraries etc. to files on my laptop so that I have them with me. I haven't yet tried to get through security by showing an online checkin printout on-screen, but I'm sure I'll be in a bind and try that one of these days.
