There is a wall between C and Y, yes. If you're in a refitted 77W, there will not be an equipment box under the seats. You do not say when your flight is, but the chances of being in a non-refitted 77W are getting slimmer every month. By June they should all be done.
Do the better seats usually fill up before check in?

I am actually hoping to get a paid upgrade offer then, so paying for them (elite+ but nothing on FB) might be a waste.
Anyway, is it okay to book the seats with 10% discount by entering the FB account no. and then changing to the other programme where I want to collect?
If you pay for EC or some other special seat, that will either be subtracted from any OLCI offer or if you bid for an upgrade and it was accepted, you can get it refunded easily.
