Someone taught that LTSO about "this badge right here" and it had to come from TSA and there is no reason to believe that TSA doesn't teach all screeners something similar. I believe with all my heart that TSA has taken extensive efforts to present a false image to the public in order to control travelers. I have no doubt that most all TSA screeners will object to my belief on this but the evidence is solid that TSA employees think their badge and title of officer has more meaning than it really does.
I favor a uniform of black slacks and a collared pull over shirt in a contrasting color with the TSA emblem affixed to the the left breast of the shirt. Epaulettes, stripes, or other marks of seniority are just not needed. If anything supervisors could have a shirt of the same type in white.
TSA should focus on security screening and not playing mind games with the public and their own employees.
