I'm traveling SFO-YYZ-MUC today with my parents joining me for the YYZ-MUC leg (coming from YOW). Since I can only bring in one guest, I asked someone in the MLL if they'd be willing to guest my other parent, which they happily agreed to.
The lounge dragon realized what we were doing and told me that I'm doing a very bad thing and AC can revoke my lounge privileges. I genuinely had no idea that this kind of guesting is not allowed / frowned upon.
Thoughts?
What rule was being broken?
One time in YVR dom, I saw a mother, father, and infant trying to get in. The mother handed over a card of some sort, and was told the guest would cost $25. She said "okay".
I stepped in and said "hold on, I have a pass.... wait a minute, screw that - I'll just guest him".
The lounge agent said something like "Are you sure you want to guest him instead of using a pass? If you guest him, any damage he causes is your responsibility."
So I engaged in some banter.
"Are you going to break anything?"
"No."
"Then we're good."
And my point is that I've guested complete strangers, and I'm willing to post about it here. And I'm still SE. But there is potentially a liability issue if your guest does something naughty.

Side note: At first, the same dragon tried to charge us $50 because she "thought" I had already brought in someone else.
What the f.
