My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night (during a 24-night Transpacific cruise) so that we would have stable access to the internet (I am mid-Masters degree and all my lectures are online etc). I am Platinum with IHG and used points for the stay.
I booked a 'Queen Sea View Non Smoking', I'm not exactly sure what the room type ended up being classed as but we had a lovely patio that went right out to the pool. Depending on your use of the hotel room, you may prefer being on the second floor -- the first floor rooms were all in linoleum tile (no idea if upper floors were different, to be honest) because presumably either guests come straight back in with wet feet and this prevents carpet mold/damage or else because there is flooding on a more regular basis. That being said, there was no odd odors and the room was clean, all furnishings fresh, and the temperature was very comfortable. Wifi was very good considering you're in the middle of the Pacific!
The staff could not have been more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they even opened the restaurant early for us (we hadn't realised it was shut until we came up, very hungry at 5:15pm and found out it didn't open until 6pm). Portions were massive. Price very reasonable. Pool was lovely but not huge. We didn't go in but laid out on the sunbeds which were very comfortable. They seemed to have a full service outdoor bar with food and drink, staff delivering things to customers etc. It had a very resort-feel despite being a hotel.
Location is great and beautiful views.
We absolutely loved our one night stay here and, if Fiji is ever in the way of our travels again, we will be sure to stop off here.
Sorry I can't answer more of your questions but I hope you can manage to travel there as it was a beautiful place.
Thanks for the very helpful information
It would be great to hear from anybody with similar experiences or able to answer my other random questions in the opening post.
