I periodically get timeshare-preview offers from the MVCI in Kauai. IIRC, it shares amenities with a mainline Marriott hotel. There are other Hawaiian MVCI's, but only the Kauai one seems to like me.
The deals are pretty attractive...5 nights + rental car for $700 or something like that. I'm obviously on their "list" but I don't think these are *that* targeted: show interest, and you can probably find an offer. Might be worth saving the points for later, but I'd only recommend it if they're willing to confirm a true 1-bedroom villa in advance (not a studio "lockoff" unit). I've done this at other MVCI and HGVC properties, always booking by phone to make sure they can do a 1-bedroom before I hand over a deposit. The 90-minute preview at Marriott is tasteful and professional: you can say "no" and leave when it's done.
If you had a one-bedroom villa, you'd have both the kitchen and the resort-style amenities. I personally liked the Marriott Kauai in general - nice place, treated us well as Golds (although we were in the main building, not the villas).
