As George Carlin would say, "Screw the Children"
It seems that everyone wants to protect the children, but most of them have had access to such materials for years. The amount of furor over a bare nipple is amazing to me. I agree that viewing Penthouse, or Hustler in an airplane is perhaps not the approriate place to be doing it. If someone is going to get bent out of shape over Playboy, then I think they need to lock their children up and never let them out.
On a flight this weekend, the lady sitting next to me in FC was reading a health magazine. I glanced over, and there was a full page of topless women. I'm not sure if it was a breast exam story or what (I didn't stare), but should I have been offended? Called the f/a? Of course I'm no 14 year old, but don't I get to be mad about this horrible flaunting of boobs?
We all want to protect our children, but if your 10 or 14 year old doesn't know what a naked body looks like, then they're going to have an exciting future. I'm talking about Playboy here, and not any hardcore stuff.
Common courtesy is often AWOL on airplanes. I believe that everyone should try and get along. However if someone starting throwing a hissy fit about reading a Playboy, I'd be more inclined not to put it away. Personally, I'd never take one on board anyway. However, some of the ads in Conde Nast are pretty racy.
