Thought I'd chime in here as I stayed for 3 nights at the Hilton Malta last week and will upload pics later.
First off...WOW. From the moment you step in it's a beautiful hotel and it doesn't disappoint anywhere that I could find either. The renovation work was well thought out and the Lobby area is absolutely stunning, light airy with lots of modern seating. They've gone for a white theme throughout and this echoes in the rooms. I was upgraded to a corner room with a balcony the size of a small room!
Staff are very geniuine and friendly, as an HHonors Diamond I was escorted up to to the exec lounge to check in. Alex is the exec lounge supervisor and was superb throughout the stay, always on hand for reservations (both in and outside of the hotel).
And as another member stated above the breakfast in the main restaurant was something of a royal banquet....waffle station, fresh egg chef, meats cheeses and pastries... I felt like I literally put on half a ton in those few days. But I was given the choice of eating in the exec lounge or main restaurant no restrictions.
I flew from LGW as a mini tp run to retain Gold (160tps return) and was probably the holiday of the year so far, the lady loved it too so yes I'd happily recommend it.
If you're looking for a lovely maltese restaurant with fresh fish (you literally chose it from the cabinet!) we dined at Gululu around the other side of the marina. 5 min walk from the lobby and a lovely walk too, good money we spent 50eur for a filling 2 course meal.
