Yes in the end I got the MPC to help with everything - buying a discounted revenue ticket, upgrading a second revenue ticket with miles, redeeming a third ticket completely for miles and then my wife called Taipei reservations to make her booking rather than use the website. The MPC ladies are very helpful but a working website would make customers happier and not waste the MPC staff's time on stuff that could easily be automated.
