You'll have a nice time. The Westin is a great property and the top floor suites have panoramic ocean views. It's in the middle of the beach for walks with a number of restaurants nearby.
We had a really nice room on the top floor of the ocean tower for 10 nights over Christmas and New Year's. The buffet was jam-packed each morning with a long omelette/egg line so I was impressed how many orders the chef handled so quickly! It was a bit of a zoo and one time a waiter almost wiped out on the stone pavers since someone spilled milk, but we were amazed at how well it was moving with such crowds. They had a NYE party that was complimentary for all hotel guests so that was a nice thing to offer since it's not really heard of anymore to offer for free events on NYE.
We went to Oahu afterwards for a week and believe it or not, we were disappointed with the new Four Seasons in West Maui. Not really the same experience, but a lot warmer employees at Westin Maui than Four Seasons.
