Very tight layover-check bag vs carry on
I'm new to posting on FT, but have lurked for quite awhile. Please forgive me as i don't know all the lingo an acronyms, but just have a pretty basic question. I fly every year and almost always just carry on - my roller board and small bag. I fly out of a small local airport (GRB) and typically fly on a small plane thru either DTW or ATL and then on to my destination. Since it's usually a small plane (2 seats on each side,) they gate check the roller boards for pick-up upon de-boarding in DTW or ATL.
On my upcoming March flight, I only have a 41 min. layover in DTW - and more than likely have 1/2 the airport to travel through to get to my next gate. In your expert opinion, am I better off just checking my bag this time around so I don't have to wait for the roller board before heading to my next gate since it's such a tight timeframe? I have Delta AmEx, so my bag is checked for free.
TIA for your advice!
