UA does not have "PE". They have Economy+, which is the equivalent of a preferred seat on AC.

Semantics only and yes my error. Except it's not the same as I get to select it for no cost on any fare ( except the soon coming Basic Fare) at the time of booking. That's why I like it and criticizing a semantic error doesn't change that underlying difference.
To be fair, the difference between UA economy plus and AC PY is more than just a "semantic error." Premium economy is an entirely different class of service which more closely resembles domestic J than a preferred economy seat (i.e. an economy seat with more legroom).

People in this thread have obviously been vocal about what's important to them when choosing an airline, but marginalizing the difference between a premium economy seat and a preferred economy seat -- on any airline -- is disingenuous to one's argument.
