It is ticketed. I'll check the ticket numbers. It looks as it the booking has now been changed as on BA it shows the DUS-LHR-ORD legs still but now the return just shows as DUS-FCO-FLR for the day after I arrive in ORD. Without having completed the 256 pages of the thread KARFA linked to I get the idea Alitalia has simply converted everyone to a one way ticket from DUS to FLR or FLR to DUS depending on their direction and they can't do anything about the already ticketed parts. I could argue the toss I suppose and try just getting to ORD and book something else to get back but since this is for a larger holiday that I would not like screwed up I think I'll just take the refund.
