Quite right, but my answer was tailored to OPs specific circumstance (AA operated flight).

Alas, I have realised a genuine inaccuracy in my post above. TPs do not differ by marketing carrier, but Avios do, depending on booking class. Use the ba.com table to figure out how to get the best haul.
