You can only book BA flights with a 2-4-1. Non-BA flights can't be on the 2-4-1 booking. If you want to book AA/AF flights you would have to do it without the 2-4-1.
EDIT: just to add that DFW-LHR-SYD would work if all BA flights. I would recommend you search each sector separately for availability rather than searching for DFW to SYD. If you find availability in all sectors you can call to book.
