yyz_traveller, if you were on AA 4361.
You will have more than enough time for the connection.

I did the same thing, separate ticket but the other one was a JFK-HKG-PEK, with a throwaway and for some reason I got restricted check-in.
I caught the guys doing 831 at the gate and they weren't able to check me in.
They were adamant about coming outside to check-in and seeing it was their 1st day in T8, no reason to raise hell.
Plus the fact the ticket has been Re-Issued 8 times probably has something to do with that too.

They got 2 CX Guys to escort me into the Flagship anyway.

If you are flying in the next week or so, I would plan your time between the Admiral's Club on Concourse C vs. Flagship in B because of the wifi issue.

I went between the 2 clubs, 3 times to balance work emails, shower/food.
