We're usually J travellers, but we couldn't get an acceptable fare, so PY it is.
Should we trust that one menu item ex-LHR will be non-meat (fish ok), or should we just order the VLML?
Given my last meal out of LHR was an omelette with a chicken sausage and that was the ONLY choice (in PY) I would recommend ordering the meal you require. The mushrooms were not the highlight of the meal.
Unless of course you are fine with eating the non-meat (and egg parts) parts of a meal. I know some vegetarians who are happy to eat all non-meat aspects whereas some won't touch a plate that been anywhere near an animal.
Also, on previous trips where I had a choice and chose the vegetarian option I was not impressed. Nor was my stomach.
What flight are you on and to where? I only have AC PY experience on the LHR/YYZ route.
