Just came back from a stay here. Staying on points, we were upgraded to what they called a junior suite -- though it was more generously sized than many true suites. There were doors separating the living room/office from the bedroom, which were also connected through the closet. We liked the layout, though it was probably in need of some renovation; a lot of the wood in the room showed a decent amount of wear.

Asked about breakfast in the restaurant at check-in, and was told we were only entitled in the lounge.

It's unfortunate that the GH is so resolute about that, because the lounge is kind of a hot mess. For our Thursday AM breakfast it was so crowded that we literally had trouble walking around to get food. It was better on Friday and Saturday, but still very very busy.

When we went to the cocktail reception on Thursday, my partner sat down at an (empty, cleaned) table, and then had another customer berate him for taking the table he had "reserved." Said other customer then pulled over a staff member who asked my partner to relocate. I am still a bit flabbergasted by this. Unfortunately my partner was too surprised to get the staff person's name. After waiting for a table in the main space for some time, we ended up finding one in a room on the opposite side of the floor. Needless to say, that soured the experience for us quite a bit.

At the very least, the hotel ought to have staff be more proactive about managing seating in the lounge.

It was my first time at this property, so I can't say recent this is -- but at least compared with the website photos, they have added additional seating to the pool restaurant so that there are tables pushed all the way to the edge of the pool. It frankly made the pool somewhat uncomfortable -- it feels like you are swimming in the middle of a noisy restaurant.

The location was convenient, though, and our room was comfortable. We will probably try someplace else next time we are in Singapore, but I'd be perfectly happy with the hotel on a business trip.
