If you really believe it is important to have a pin preferred card, I 'swould presume it is just for just in case. It certainly would be my first choice for my credit card purchases; of course this decision is based on other things such as ftf's, rewards and the like. I know I have the card and use it every so often to keep, it active but it is not my primary card. When I'm off to Europe I take it but only use it sometimes when I don't want to go through the stupidity at self service. For that reason, I don't really worry about customer service.
