I was a little surprised to get the Carfirmation email for my LAX rental five hours in advance. Seeing I had been assigned a Maxima with out of state plates and remembering my last experiece with an older Maxima, I tried several times to switch but no options were available. When I got to LAX, the lot was about as empty as I've seen it (Saturday afternoon of MLK Weekend).
It turns out I like the 2017 Maxima. Even though the car I have is a base "S" trim, the V-6 motor, good sound system, built-in Navi, backup camera, and comfortable seats make it a nice alternative to the Impala. The Sirius/XM isn't enabled and I am too lazy to deal with it with Roadside Assistance - if I was keeping the car longer, I might have tried.

I remember the days when Hertz was affiliated with Ford in the 90s and the car classes were Ford Escort for B, Contour for C, Thunderbird for D, Taurus for F, Crown Vic for G, and Town Car for I (not sure if all the car codes were the same).
