At what point does that change? When the airplane door closes? I mean, doesn't a valid boarding pass indicate that you a confirmed sest on a given flight? That doesn't mean that the airline can't revoke the boarding pass. That happens every day, but has consequences.
Also, at what point do you lose your right to your original flight and seat? How long do they keep that locked in for you if you go standby on an earlier flight?
