When will you be staying in Paris? IMO, if you aren't there during the high season (June - October), I wouldn't use your points + cash. Paris is sadly having a difficult time with tourists as a result of the recent terrorist attacks, so you can find some
really good rates at some nice hotels.
I recently stayed at Hotel d'Orsay after staying a couple of nights at the PH, and I much preferred d'Orsay. Much more relaxed, and for about $200/night in summer, it was a fantastic deal. I kind of regretted using my 30k points.
Don't get me wrong, I love the PH in Paris, but I'm not sure it's worth it when you can get a good hotel in Paris at the moment for roughly $250 or less. YMMV.
