I have no idea how you could think an economy seat and service with the seat next to it free is in any way comparable to a lie flat seat in business class on QF.
As an alternative to the high cost of a purchased business class seat (which can be as high as $2000 one way), two seats in economy would probably come in under AUD400 one way. Not an entirely bad suggestion if you must have extra space.
