Caprice and Petrus have always been a cut above the rest, IMO. It's tough paying for bottles I already own, or super bling bottles; I enjoy a place like Caprice where they've actually put some thought into good-but-not-crazy-price (...relatively speaking here) bottles that I wouldn't otherwise find. Otto, MO etc. are guilty of a lot of bottles I either own or can find virtually anywhere. Of course, this is nit-picking because high-end HK restaurants overall have superb wine lists. We are really lucky here.
And regardless, all this seems probably moot...because my gut says, after reading all the posts above and digesting, that this "benefit" is probably total fluff.
Most of my clients are not allowed to drink at lunch meetings anymore so the wine list rarely gets past the first page unfortunately.
Food wise i have never been that impressed by Caprice or Lung King Heen, relative to the competition.
