However, I cannot get clear information about when this applies. Does it apply if the airline cancels one leg of the flight and they want to rebook me on a different one? Does it apply if one leg of my flight is delayed and I miss another? These are my 2 concerns. I won't be voluntarily changing my itinerary.
In most cases, it applies up until 24 hours before the first flight begins. At that point, the ticket is transferred to airport control and airport staff can make changes. Before that, you would need to go through the agency.
