I think the 2-4-1s are outstanding value if used wisely on long haul. I just used one over Xmas / New Year and it as great on a leisure break arriving at LHR and going direct to your destination! No positioning or faff. For a short break to California it was great. £1,100 for two return inc F on 789. I've redeemed on SYD, JNB and plenty of West Coast USA and as long as your not low on Avios they are great value.
