I used the service going to the airport, $12, and it worked fine, though lots of traffic--both for the driver to get to you and then to the airport. I had plenty of time, but I'd allocate a full hour to get to the airport at a busy time and then maybe add a few more minutes for the driver to get to you just in case. While here, a local used Uber to get us a ride, "cheaper than a taxi" -- don't know about airport trips but presumably why not?

I'm staying at the Movenpick, I guess that's French Quarter-ish, a few blocks east of the train station. I like this location as Old Town is just too chaotic and noisy for me. Also, this is more centrally located from a tourism point of view, thinking of the things near here (like the prison museum) plus the Mausoleum, Fine Arts Museum, Temple of Literature.
