So quick Question: Looking to make lifetime gold before the changeover (presumably Q1 2018). I currently am 80 nights away which is doable by then, but my SPG Dashboard only shows me as having 3 years elite as of today. I will have 5 years of elite status in the program if you just look at it in the years I've qualified (2013,14,15,16,17) and potentially 18, but based on my dashboard it would imply I would be SOL at the transition, with only 4 years "elite". When I called SPG they weren't able to clarify.
I have not seen anything that states if SPG goes by the calendar year, the anniversary date you signed up, the date you cross the threshold, or some arbitrary sweep date when they run a program to check who's up for it. Cutting it so close to the wire can be problematic.
Remember, anything a CSR tells you today may not be in effect at the time of the program mergers. I'd say just roll your dice and see how it ends up. You'll be just as well off.
